Do Students plagiarize accidentally or deliberately? And why?

Plagiarism is a common problem nowadays and especially among students. In such cases, students fail to learn new things, important skills, problem-solving and other beneficial things. Students who write copied content in their files, assignments, projects and other papers reject the chance to learn and develop their skills. So, why students do that? And, how to avoid it?

There can be two categories of plagiarizing i.e. accidental and deliberate plagiarism. Some students genuinely don’t know about plagiarized content and they write themselves, but it comes out to be copied content, while others deliberately copy the data to gain more marks and to save their time.

Accidental Plagiarism

• When a student prepares notes, projects or reads any books they develop certain ideas, thoughts and learn some phrases, stories and written material that the accidentally use in their new work. At that time, they forget to use quotations marks while using those words or sentences.

Deliberate Plagiarism

• Sometimes students run out of time and to meet the deadline they choose to take a shortcut by copying and pasting the text

• Also, when a student doesn’t take any interest in a particular subject, he/she copy the content to show in the school/college.
